Applying for Employment

To apply for employment at S.T.E.P., we require that all applications be completed in our office. It will take you some time to fill it out, whether on one of our computers (preferred), or on a paper copy. Make sure you come prepared. You will not be able to complete the application unless you have all of the following:

  1. From at least your last 3 employers: Full business name, address, telephone number and your supervisor’s name. Yes, all of this is required for the application to be considered complete.
  2. References: Full name, occupation, telephone and/or email address of 3 personal references who are NOT related to you and that you have known for at least 1 year.
  3. Ability to speak English or communicate in ASL.
  4. Ability to read the application and complete the application without language assistance.
  5. Plenty of time; it takes 45 minutes to 2 hours to fill out our application on the computer.

More Things to Know about applying at STEP

  • STEP promotes a Drug Free workplace. If hired, you will be required to undergo a drug screening test. Refusal to participate, failure to complete the test in the allotted timeframe, and/or positive or inconclusive test results will cause an immediate withdrawal of our job offer.
  • We will conduct a thorough background check through Infolink Screening Services, which will include criminal, Social Security number trace, and Motor Vehicle records check.
  • Due to state regulations, we cannot have any employees with Felony convictions in our workforce. You will be asked about all criminal conviction information in more detail at the time of actual application.
